Artists-in-Residence

artists-in-residencE

KORDON started with its’ first artist-in-residence program in August 2018 by hosting a French artist duo at KORDON Residency facilities on Hiiumaa island, Estonia, for 1,5 months. In general the residency programme will operate during off-season to activate a small city Kärdla apart from summer time. Artists are encouraged to finish their residency by finding ways to meet the local community (exhibition, workshop, open studio etc). The selection of artists will be based on an invitation and through Open Call that addresses a theme/ topic that is relevant when relating to local-global site-specific issues of the territory (Kärdla / Hiiumaa / Estonia / Baltic Sea). For short-term residency. Kordon invites critical thinkers and creators, offering privacy and slowness.
