KORDON SELF-DIRECTED AND SELF-FUNDED ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM: WINTER – SPRING 2026

We welcome applications from all types of creative practitioners and researchers including visual artists, architects, filmmakers, writers, curators, musicians, performing artists and those working across disciplines or in collaboration. We offer 2 or 4 week winter and spring residencies which begin on Sundays and end on Saturdays. The winter–spring residency offers an intimate and peaceful time in an island environment and is suitable for work that requires concentration or just time for self-reflection.

Ootame kandideerima eri valdkondade loomeprofessionaale, kuraatoreid, uurijaid (kunst, arhitektuur, film, kirjandus, muusika, etenduskunst jne). Residentuur on isefinantseeritav, kuid hea meelega saadame ametliku kinnituskirja/kutse rahastuse taotlemiseks.

Application Process: As space is limited, we select applicants based on an evidence of their professional experience, quality of past work, project idea and compatibility with any other residents staying at the same time.

Application deadline: October 31, 2025

Available rooms and dates: The residency house includes two studios/bedrooms (small and large) with private bathrooms, a fully equipped shared kitchen and a washing machine. The large studio has a big studio space, a screen and a projector. A small studio is more intimate, where the bedroom is connected to the studio, and is more suitable for an artist or researcher who writes or works at a desk. Included in the residency fee are sheets, towels, all detergents, water, electricity, heating, and internet access. To get around there are bisycles or push sledges available as the weather permits.

Expectations towards the artist

As this is a self-funded residency, the only expectation is that the artist works on their project during the majority of their residency. We hope that this supportive environment, without the pressure to produce, will aid creativity, experimentation and the development of new ideas. KORDON, for its part, deals with communication and supports the resident with the necessary help during the residency.
